#8 - Winterlude has officially kicked off!
Grab a warm jacket and a cozy scarf to participate in the 40th annual Winterlude/Bal de Neige activities! You'll want to go online to the winterlude website to decide in advance what you want to take in. There are over 80 activities across Ottawa and Gatineau that you'll be able to be a part of.
Highlights - Here are some things we think you won't want to miss.
- The International Ice-Carving Competition (Feb 2-4, 2018)
- Extreme Aerial Acrobatic and Trampo Wall Show (Feb 2-19, 2018)
- Humanoid Interactive Digital Art Projection (Feb 2-19, 2018)
- Got kids or young at heart? Snowflake Kingdom (Feb 2-19, 2018)
If you want to just explore Winterlude and grab some great pics, we recommend going on weekends (Friday-Sunday) in the early evening around dusk. You'll be able to take in the event during daylight and watch it transform into the night.
Parking can be hard to find in these areas. If you're from out of town, we recommend using local parking options and paid options. The cheapest and closest lot to Confederation park is underneath Ottawa City Hall. From here, you can walk right across the road, and take the Sno-Bus to all the events.
Have fun and stay warm!
